Adjust the base font size for your content:
- Use the slider to change size
- Range: 12px to 28px
- Default: 18px
The current size displays next to the slider.
Font Family
Choose your preferred font for different content types:
Body Font
The main text font for your content. Options include:
- Serif - Traditional book appearance (default)
- Sans-serif - Modern, clean look
- Monospace - Fixed-width characters
Heading Font
Used for headings (H1, H2, H3). Select independently from body text.
Code Font
Used for code blocks if you include technical content.
Text Alignment
Toggle text justification:
- Off - Left-aligned text (ragged right edge)
- On - Justified text (even margins)
Hint: Justification works best with wider text columns.
Style Preferences
Em Dash Style
Control how em dashes appear:
- US Style - No spaces: word—word
- International - Spaced: word — word
This affects display only; your source content remains unchanged.
Drop Caps
Enable decorative large first letters at the start of chapters:
- Off - Normal paragraph starts
- On - Large drop cap for first letter
Hint: Drop caps apply to the first paragraph of each section.
Odd-Page Margins
Adjust margins for print-style layout:
- Off - Symmetric margins
- On - Alternating margins for recto/verso pages
This is primarily for preview purposes; export handles margins separately.

Tips
- Match your output - If targeting print, use serif and justification
- Reduce eye strain - Larger fonts for long writing sessions
- Test readability - Read a full chapter with your settings
- Dark mode pairing - Some fonts read better in light vs. dark themes
