Using Templates
Applying a Template
- Open the template gallery
- Click on a template to preview it
- Click Apply to use it for your current book
Applying a template overwrites your current interior design settings. If you have unsaved customizations, consider saving them as a custom template first.
Switching Templates
You can switch templates at any time. Your content isn't affected—only the visual styling changes.
Favorites
Mark templates as favorites for quick access.
Adding a Favorite
- Hover over any template in the gallery
- Click the star icon
- The template appears in your Favorites section
Removing a Favorite
- Click the star icon again on a favorited template
- Or go to Favorites and click the star to unfavorite
Favorites sync to your device. Each user has their own favorites list.
Custom Templates
Create custom templates when you want to:
- Maintain consistent branding across a series
- Save a design you've spent time perfecting
- Share a design configuration (via export/import)
Creating a Custom Template
- Open the Interior Designer
- Adjust settings until you're happy with the design
- Click Save as Template (or the save icon)
- Enter a name for your template
- Click Save
Your custom template appears in the Custom category.
Editing a Custom Template
- Apply the template to any book
- Make your changes in the Interior Designer
- Click Update Template to save changes back to the template
Changes to a template don't automatically update books already using that template. Each book stores its own copy of the interior design.
Cloning a Template
Create a new template based on an existing one:
- Select the template you want to clone
- Click the Duplicate button (or right-click > Duplicate)
- Enter a name for the new template
- Customize as needed
This is useful when you want variations on a theme—for example, the same design but with different trim sizes for different markets.
Deleting a Custom Template
- Find the template in the Custom category
- Click the delete button (or right-click > Delete)
- Confirm deletion
Built-in presets cannot be deleted. Only custom templates can be removed.

Tips for Managing Templates
Name templates descriptively -
Romance 6x9
is more useful thanTemplate 1
Create series templates - Keep all books in a series visually consistent
Start from presets - Clone a built-in preset rather than starting from scratch
Test before committing - Apply a template and check the preview before finalizing
Keep favorites lean - Mark only templates you use regularly as favorites
